Big Ten Mini-Grant Program Coordinator, 2002-2006. Developed and managed a grant-in-aid program
providing funds through the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to colleges and universities, industry, business,
and high schools focusing on virtual and in-place research reactors at the following Big Ten schools:
Illinois, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue, and Wisconsin. Developed a website with an on-line
application and review process. Oversight for the entire process from application stage through grant awards,
management, closure, and reporting to DOE. Program had a 15-member governance committee which included
university, industry, energy, and medical representatives with DOE ex-officio members.

Safety Manager, Penn State Mechanical Engineering laboratories, 2002-2006.
Developed and put into place an on-line inventory system for cradle to
grave chemical inventory and waste management.
Environment Committee of Mechanical and
Nuclear Engineering Penn State, 2001-2005. Committee conducted surveys
and prepared reports for department head to enhance and improve
department social climate and quality of
education.
