  • SCORE Central Pennsylvania Chapter #618 Counselor. Counselors to America’s Small Business” is part of a national nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of the nation’s small business. Affiliated with US Small Business Administration

  • American Federation of Musicians, Local 660 and Central Pennsylvania Musicians Association. Former President, Publisher and Editor of Monthly On-line and Hardcopy Newsletter. Created several member incentives. Membership rose nearly 80%  utilizing membership marketing strategies.

  • Big Ten Mini-Grant Program Coordinator, 2002-2006. Developed and managed a grant-in-aid program

    providing funds through the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to colleges and universities, industry, business,

    and high schools focusing on virtual and in-place research reactors at the following Big Ten schools:  

    Illinois, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue, and Wisconsin.  Developed a website with an on-line

    application and  review process. Oversight for the entire process from application stage through grant awards,

    management, closure, and reporting to DOE. Program had a 15-member governance committee which included

    university, industry, energy, and medical representatives with DOE ex-officio members.

     

  • Cooperative Education and Internship Coordinator, Penn State College of Engineering, 1992-2006.  Counseled students Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering Department. Prepared and offered  programs regarding global business, networking, interpersonal-communication skills, and bringing students and faculty together.  Include web page development and operation.

     

  • Environmental Health and Safety Chemical Safety Manager, Penn State Mechanical Engineering laboratories, 2002-2006. Developed and put into place an on-line inventory system for cradle to grave chemical inventory and waste management.

     

  • Environment Committee of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering Penn State, 2001-2005. Committee conducted surveys and prepared reports for department head to enhance and improve department social climate and  quality of education.

     

  • Recognition by Penn State Office of Planning and Institutional Assessment for program innovations and improvement. Three continuing education programs in years 2003-2004-2005.

     

  • Continuing Education Planning Committee, Penn State College of Engineering, 2003-2006.

  • President 2005-2006 State College Rotary Club. Recipient of the Governor’s Cup as best Rotary Club for 2006. Rotary district includes 45 clubs in three states.
